The Lind collection - updated (Scan Heavy)

Here is my updated Lind collection. Most of the scans I took from COMC and a few from the Bay. You can tell which are my real pictures because they aren't very good! All the cards that feature a serial number on the front are either my own picture or the actual card that I bought.

Is Micheal Jordan in town for the Ryder Cup?

This is the latest rumour going around.

Apparently he was seen at a bar in Cardiff and many people tweeted about it.

There aren't many details but I did find this online.

A couple of weeks back during my last spree on COMC I decided to try my hand at flipping a card.



I picked up the above T206 Ty Cobb mini Cycle back /99 for $6.25. It has a BV of $25 so I thought I'd re-list it for $10 and see what happens. Well today after I came back from dropping my wife off at work I checked my emails and I had a daily summary from COMC. This was my first daily summery email so I wasn't a 100% sure what to expect. I assumed it was charges since they charge a few cents a month for storing a card but to my surprise the card sold for the full $10.



Its not a huge profit, only $4, but it pays for the shipping of the cards I had waiting there and also gives me enough to pick up another card or two. Perhaps I may even pick up another card to flip.


Now for some Ryder Cup news.


Since yesterday, Newport has become awfully crowded. I had to take my wife to the train station yesterday morning, which is normally a 10 minute round trip. It took me 45 minutes! The roads was crowded with taxis, buses and brand spanking new cars with blacked out windows worth more than the average house in the town. Its exciting that the Cup is being held here but the majority of the local population is much more interested in celebrity spotting.

Samuel L Jackson and Morgan Freeman have both been spotted in one of the best restaurants in town, The Priory located on the outskirts in a place called Caerleon. Allegedly Jackson had booked out the whole restaurant for a private party so there were no locals inside apart from the staff at the restaurant.


I cant find any picture proof of this or do I know anyone personally who has claimed to see them. I did find this article from Walesonline.


Prince Charles is visiting the cup soon as are a few Welsh celebrities, such as Catherine Zeta Jones and Shirley Bassey. Theres no word on whether the Barack Obama rumour that I wrote about a few days back is true but I was told that Air Force one is landing at Cardiff airport early tomorrow morning or Friday. I dont believe that one bit but that's what I was told.


Anyway who cares.


The Giants are now two games in front of the Padres! Will they keep this lead? and who will they play if and when they hit the playoffs? Braves or Padres?


I've managed to secure the next few weeks off work so I'm able to watch all the playoff games and World Series live on ESPN.

Ryder Cup 2010 live from Newport Wales - Rumours from the town

So starting this week is the Ryder Cup, one of the biggest, if not THE biggest event in the golfing calendar and its all going on about half a mile from my house!

Lots of rumours have been flooding my fair city of Newport, from what celebrities are going to be there to what will happen to Newport and Wales when it is all over.

I dont have tickets to the event itself since I believe it was a lottery allocation in order to buy the tickets and from what I have heard the tickets are going for around £1000. If I had a spare £1000 I wouldn't waste it watching golf, no I'd waste it on cardboard. Besides that's why I have satellite TV.

During this week I'm going to post a little bit about the golf, not so much who is winning since there are many news sites for you to look at. I'm going to talk more about whats happening around the golf, interesting stories and unusual rumours.

Since it was announced a while back that it would be held at the Celtic Manor hotel and golf resort, the city has been on a big redevelopment drive and it was going great until they ran out of money! Now the city centre looks like one big building site. There are empty stores, the railway station is still being expanded and the roads, Christ dont get me started on the state of the roads around here.

Still everyone is very excited that the event is being hosted here. A lot of people have even rented out their homes for the week, some for many thousands of pounds.

That leads me on to the biggest rumour that is going around.

In the grounds of the Celtic Manor stands a private residence. Last week they had a knock at the door and there stood two men in dark suits with ear pieces. The two men told the occupiers that they could pick anywhere in the world that they wanted to go for the week of the Ryder Cup, all expenses would be covered.

Now before I tell you who these men are, let me just say again this is a rumor! I heard it from a fairly reliable source, a person who will be working at the event, but I cannot confirm this or find any concrete evidence online.

The two men were secret service officers from the United States and the house was needed for the President of the US Barack Obama. The house was chosen for its location and the security that it offers.

I really hope this is true and even though I have my doubts regarding this I cant find anything to disprove it.

There is also talk that both Bush senior and junior are attending, as well as Bill Clinton.

Clinton is probably true since hes been to this neck of the woods a few times, the Bush family though I dont know.

or is this true? Only time will tell.

Back on Topps. Will there be a season 3?

Its been a while since anything has happened with this show. Does anyone know if there will be another season?

For those of you who aren't aware of this show its about two brothers, Leif and Leyland Topps played by the Sklar twins who are heirs to the Topps company but it is sold before they take it over and they end up having to come up with creative ideas to save their jobs.

I wont give too much away but if your interested in finding out more then here's a link to their YouTube page.

Each episode is only about 5 minutes long and since there are only two seasons you could probably work through all of them in two hours.
